California Wines, the state’s trade organization for wine, hired the production company Wondros to create a social media campaign celebrating California wines. Wondros hired me to direct.
One of the institute’s main goals with the series was to make wine approachable to a wider audience. To that end, my approach in filming was to embrace a messy, handheld camera. My approach in talking to the vintners, vineyard owners, and wine experts we met: “I don’t know anything about wine, please tell me about it.”
